There are no amounts for barley and parsley - only the letter A with a tilde. Does anyone know what the amount should be?

I like the combination of beans and barley, as any combo of grain and legume will yield a complete protein. However, I recently had to switch from barley to rice due to a gluten sensitivity. For the same reason I make a cornbread with my bean soup, instead of having a normal wheat bread.
